For our client, a Japanese electronic manufacturing company, we are looking for a motivated and qualified Field Application Engineer (FAE)
[Main tasks and responsibilities] -Support customers and the sales team as the technical expert for all assigned products. -Develop strong relationships with the engineering staff at key customers. -Work with customers to obtain Voice of the Customer requirements in the definition phase of a project. -Provide internal project coordination for customer specific programs. -Interface between customer, the sales team in Europe and the Japan team (product management, engineering, manufacturing and QA) -Support customer projects with product recommendations during design-in phase. -Review customer specs and also assists in developing specifications for new products. -Submit test plans and work with the test lab to support customer applications. -Support customers with knowledge of agency approval process and industry standards. -Assist in tracking market trends and generating product roadmaps. -Provide technical support on customer complaints and product returns. -Provide cross-references to competitive products. -Involved in design of connectors, after initial period. -Preparing various reports. -Communication, when required, with customers and other HRS offices outside the area of responsibility. -Communication with Head Quarters in Japan. -Intensive training program in Japan (2 - 4 weeks) after probation period. -Other duties requested by management. [Requirements] -Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s of engineering degree in mechanical, electrical or electronics engineering. -Minimum of five years of professional level engineering experience with a Connector manufacturer. -Strong problem solving capability on complex applications and technical issues. -Strong planning and organizational skills. -Strong interpersonal and communication skills. -Strong presentation skills. -Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and environmental testing is a plus. -2D and 3D CAD operations experience. -Willing to travel, international orientation. -Native German speaking and fluent in English. -Stress resilient and structured
